Game Journalism Day 5 _ WALK THROUGH

Throughout my time playing this game I have never been able to do the ACTUAL challenge that the game wants you to do. In the challenge I was doing you needed to get flare shells ( not flares completely different flares cannot be shot ) and a flare gun and get up to the light house and shoot a flare for help. Apparently you can find the Flare gun on the top of a mountain but I haven't gotten that far yet. I have only been able to get as far as the dam which is far walking not up to where i needed to go but you cant really get up there easily without good clothes to keep you warm and food and water. If you have time to play this game and aren't in a rush to see everything then playing it safe past wolves and bears to stock up on supplies will get you loaded enough to climb the mountains with ease not having to worry about freezing in 2 mins or running out of food and water. Like most survivals if you rush you will get far quick but if you take your time you can get way further. Yes it takes more time but its worth it in the long run.

Game Journalism Day 3 - Tackle

So my goal for this post was to find the supplies needed to make fishing tackle then hopefully catch some fish. You need to get deer intestine and dry it out to make a line and get scrap metal to make hook, hook and line together make fishing tackle. In the starting cabin you can find fishing tackle by random, or you find scarp metal or a line but its pretty rare I have only found them once after restarting by death and by choice 29 times. If you want to find the supplies I recommend going to the dam. The dam can be found by following the train tracks its about a 5 - 10 min walk from the starting Cabin. If you want to you can try to just go to the lake, find a fishing hut and there could the fishing tackle already there or you can fish with your hands but you get cold quick and its not as efficient. I have been trying to get the supplies for a few days and every time i get on the game and find 1 of the supplies I end up dying. So I gave up when I finally found the fishing tackle at one of the fishing huts. If you want to try this go ahead it shouldn't be too hard but if you get easily distracted by loot like me you can find yourself losing all your supplies to a wolf including the fishing supplies, happy hunting.

Game Journalism Day 2

Challenge: get a distressed pistol ( flare gun ) and flares and get to the light house and signal for help

I started off the day by gathering snow, melting it on the fire then boiling it for me to drink. I wandered around for a while trying to find various things and i found a cabin by the lake where there was a bunch of food, supplies, and beds to sleep in. I found a dam that had a lot of loot in it and i ended up looting the rooms and dying of hypothermia. 

You can boil up to 5L of water to drink

A few minute walk in the right direction will lead you to this Cabin on the lake

If you walk out the door turn 90 degrees and walk over the small hill you can find  dead body by a tree with a chance of a hatchet spawn. 4/10 times a went there it had spawned so i would say theres roughly a 40% spawn chance
